Julie Davis and Kelly Dow are both from small towns in the southwest, yet were drawn to Florida through two separate paths that became one. Julie Davis, born 1970 in San Angelo, Texas, grew up in a house filled with mostly big band and jazz music. She was always encouraged to sing in church and choir because her family believed she possessed a certain gift. She spent her teen years in Austin, Texas, a well known musically enriched community where the world seemed to open up a little more. There were always opportunities to see and hear live jazz and blues.

In 1994 she moved to South Florida to pursue a career in music with the full support of her family. She started to work immediately with different local groups. Desiring her own regular group to work with and develop her own niche; more freedom with
arrangements and tunes. She placed an ad in the Rag magazine hoping to find one person she could collaborate with.

Kelly Dow, born 1966 in Lubbock, Texas and grew up in the small town of
Hobbs, New Mexico. In 1984 he got his feet wet in the art of jazz guitar at Herb Ellis' and Jackie King's Southwest Guitar Conservatory. The following year he enrolled in the jazz program at the University of North Texas. There professors Jack Petersen and Dan Harle emphasized playing standards and combining your mind fingers and heart to make the music sound and feel good.

After graduating in 1990 he moved to Florida where four years later he answered an ad in Rag magazine where he met his musical soul mate.
From the moment they heard each other's musical voices, they knew that they were both heading in the same direction and they liked each other enough to decide to travel there together. They share a mutual goal of continuously learning, improving and creating. "Our art is like, let us compare a sky with clouds that form different shapes that look like things or people. Each day it will be different, sometimes beautiful sometimes not, but never the same, always different and dimensional.
That is what we do with the music."

The future is a mystery and to desire a specific result isn't too realistic. Life always presents new dimensions and challenges. It is full of changes so what Julie and Kelly want is to grow in the right directions musically and spiritually, and to bring joy into peoples hearts with the way they play music.
